On the said day, the lady together with the sister visited a friend at Bomso and were returning to Besease, where they reside when they met Oddei.

He called the victim aside, told her that his grandmother wanted to see her and she obliged, but then the convict pulled out a machete and threatened to hack her to death.

Scared for her life, she took to her heels. He runs after her, caught up with her and inflicted multiple wounds on her head, neck, back and right hand, until she fell to the ground.

Oddei took her for dead, dropped the machete and attempted to flee but was hotly pursued by some neighbours.

He managed to take refuge at a nearby local FM Radio station and the police were called to arrest him

The victim was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where she was kept on admission for days.
