The Managing Director of Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has resigned from his position, Samuel Dubik Mahama has resigned.
Dubik Mahama is said to have tendered his resignation letter to the Board Chairman of ECG on Wednesday.
The letter, however, did not provide any official reason for his resignation.
Mr Mahama was appointed by President Akufo-Addo and took over the role on May 16, 2022.
Recounting his two-year tenure as ECG boss, he shared five key achievements.
1. Implementing digital solutions to streamline (cashless) payment and billing processes, combating losses and corruption.
2. Successfully revamped the ECG PowerApp, resulting in a surge of active users from 500,000 to over 3.5 million.
3. Elevated the company's monthly revenue from GHS 400 million to an impressive GHS 1 billion.
4. Significantly reduced meter request backlogs through the Loss Reduction Project (LRP), achieving an injection of 275,000 meters into the system as at 10th May 2024.
5. Currently replacing outdated meters to comply with our enhanced meter management system across operational regions.
Before becoming the Managing Director, he served as a non-executive director at ECG and has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors
Mahama previously worked as a non-executive director at GIHOC Distilleries, Country representative for Gulfsouth Forest Products, and Partner at Dubik & Associates, Wilkins Engineering, among others.
He is a legal practitioner and a graduate of the University of Ghana.
