The National Board for Small Scale Industries has hinted that it will be embarking on a few reforms, as part of its efforts to create an enabling business environment for the transformation of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the country.
The proposed reform which will begin January 2018, comes on the wheels of the government’s continued emphases by government of the critical role MSEs play in its effort to transform Ghana’s economy into an industrialized one.
Speaking to the media - Executive Director of NBSSI, Kosi Yankey said: “the NBSSI is the process of converting all its Business Advisory Centres across the country into Business Resource Centres. The Resource Centres will be one-stop-shops for business development, especially at the district levelsâ€.

While the reforms will be coordinated directly from the NBSSI centre, she reiterated the agency’s commitment to bring on board all stakeholders who matter in business development in every district.
Established by an Act of the Parliament in the Third Republic (Act 434 of 1981) and commencing operations in 1985, the NBSSI is the highest governmental agency for promotion and development of the Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) sector in Ghana.
