The Ghana Police Service has dismissed reports suggesting that militiamen are being trained in Kwahu, Eastern Region, in preparation for the 2024 general elections.
In a brief statement, the Police clarified that their investigation found no evidence supporting these allegations.
They have initiated a probe to identify those responsible for spreading these false claims and will hold them accountable according to the law.
The Ghana Police Service also issued a warning against the spread of fake news and urged the public to communicate responsibly.
“We advise the public to avoid publishing and sharing false information,” the statement concluded.
