The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced its plans to undertake a 16-day exercise known as “Operation Keep the Lights On” across all its operational areas
The operation, which will begin on January 15 and run through January 31, 2025, aims to recover arrears, inspect prepaid meters, and enforce compliance with disconnection regulations. ECG emphasized that self-reconnection is illegal, citing Legislative Instrument (LI) 2413, and urged customers to cooperate fully with the exercise.
During this period, ECG’s regional and district offices will offer limited essential services to focus on the operation.
The company reiterated its mandate to legally access installations and called on the public to support its efforts to ensure efficient service delivery.
