The Ghana Police Service has announced that highway patrols, traffic checks and snap operations on roads by the Police will henceforth be under the supervision of senior police officers.
According to the Police, after receiving public complaints, videos and messages of unprofessional police behaviour the decision has been taken to curb the phenomenon.
This was contained in a statement signed by the director of public affairs of the Police service, ACP David Eklu.

The statement further stated that to ensure accountability, especially on the roads, special numbers will be provided for citizens to report misconduct.
