Your Excellency President Mahama,

I trust this letter finds you doing well and hearty.

The purpose of this letter is to draw your attention to a couple of issues for your information and consideration. I took inspiration from your own words when you were sworn into office in 2012. You did indicate that you welcome constructive criticisms in the discharge of your duties.

In three decades, the lead operatives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have not changed their ways one bit.They continue to reason like envy-wracked toddlers who are in no hurry to go anywhere, as long as they are provided with their favorite toys, namely, access to raw power and the chance to wantonly misuse taxpayer money to promote their own selfish interests.

Fadi Dabboussi’s recent sordid journalistic faux pas committed against the President of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. John Dramani Mahama was condemned by many social pundits. However, concerns were raised about the modus operandi of the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) who invited Fadi to interrogate him.

Even though it has been well-stencilled that a coalescence of an effective campaign messages and a formidable candidate increases the chances of electoral victory (Baek 2009), a political party would be committing an electoral suicide for failing to keep an eagle eye on its opponent’s voracious and diabolical agenda.

The revelation that the rich and wealthy are shovelling money in overseas tax havens is not a particularly surprising one. Nevertheless, the sheer scale of the 11.5 million document leak from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonesca has whipped up an overdue storm and forced the issue of tax justice back on the agenda. It is likely that the Panama papers is just the tip of the iceberg, and if even more is revealed about the financial affairs of world leaders, the implication for global politics will be huge.

The Democratic presidential primaries in the US have been characterised by surging anger at the global elite. The Panama papers scandal will only fuel popular indignation at the actions of perceived establishment figures – those who have stood idly by and allowed this huge miscarriage of justice to take place.

Although there have been no major American casualties over the leak at this stage, all of the presidential candidates will be questioned about the scandal. And nobody is going to be under more pressure than Hillary Clinton. For some Americans, she is the embodiment of a “global elite”, while Bernie Sanders is its antithesis.

The huge leak exposes governments across the globe wilfully ignoring tax avoidance by the rich. Although Clinton has not been linked to any malfeasance in the leak, there is a sense that she is among the elite rich, some of whose members have benefited from such schemes.

It has been revealed Clinton pushed through the Panama Free Trade Deal at the same time that Sanders vocally opposed it, citing research warning that it would strictly limit the government’s ability to clamp down on questionable or even illegal activity. Even if the Clintons remain unmentioned in future tax bombshells, Sanders can continue to exploit the narrative that Clinton is part of the demographic responsible, and has assisted in flagrant abuses of the system through trade deals.

As this scandal looks intent on dragging on, it is now increasingly likely that undecided voters will swing towards the Sanders camp in the vital primaries coming up, including New York. In a general election, Republican favourite Donald Trump’s alleged historic tax dodging will leave him in hot water in comparison to Sanders' squeaky clean record. He is the only candidate who even speaks in terms of the 1 per cent vs the 99 per cent. Should he secure the Democratic nomination, early general election polls suggest Sanders would knock Trump out of the park.

But this more than a battle of candidates, it is a battle of ideas. Globalisation, heralded by the likes of Hillary Clinton, has enabled the richest in society to exploit the system while ordinary working people pick up the tab. This has been going on for decades; as a political family, the Clintons have done nothing about it. Hillary continues to describe her opponent’s policy platform as ‘pie in the sky’, yet corporations paying their fair share of taxes could easily fund many of Sanders’ proposals.

Funeral celebrations begin with funeral announcement on both the air-waves and the print media, followed by posters bearing the portrait of the dead with an inscription which commensurate with the age and the circumstances surrounding the dead.

I have never been a tribalist; and shall never be one! I have never been a religious bigot; and I shall never be one! I have never been a racist; and shall never be one! I have never been a male chauvinist; and I shall never be one!

However, I shall never allow anyone to spit on the grave of my ancestors! I am a full-blooded Ewe from the Volta Region; and I am very proud of my ancestry.

I am very proud of my heritage and shall never use my left hand to point at the homestead of my forebears.

The Patriarchs of the Ewe-land shall not forgive me if I do not contribute my little quota to defending Ewe-land.BawuLiar

There is no doubt that the United Party (UP) Political Tradition has never hidden its deep hatred for Ewes and the people of the Volta Region.

For reasons best known to that Political Tradition, Ewes and Voltarians have never been considered as true-blooded Ghanaians.

The UP Tradition has refused to accept the fact that Volta Region long ceased to be part of Trans Volta Togoland; and is 100% part of Ghana.

The UP Tradition never loses any vile opportunity to cast aspersions at Volta Region in particular and Ewes in general.

To put in bluntly; the UP Tradition does not have an iota of RESPECT for Voltarians.

How can I forget how Victor Owusu insulted Voltarians and referred to us as “Inward Looking People”.?

Victor Owusu was the Presidential Candidate for the UP Tradition’s, Popular Front Party (PFP), during the 1979 General Elections, and when he could not penetrate the Volta Region with his tribal Akan superiority complex, he rather chose to insult Voltarians.

It is the insulting utterances of the likes of Victor Owusu that has made it extremely impossible for the UP Tradition to have any meaningful voting base amongst Voltarians.

Indeed, Victor Owusu was the political mentor and godfather of John Agyekum Kufuor.

The UP Tradition has metamorphosed into the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and the hatred for Voltarians is still very much ingrained in its DNA.

It is therefore not surprising that John Agyekum Kufuor never paid too much attention to the development of the Volta Region during his 8-year tenure as President of Ghana.

How can I forget the war and mayhem that Kufuor caused in the Anlo State

Kufuor supervised the mayhem that engulfed the Anlo State when he sought to desecrate the sacred Awomefia Stool.

CODEC2Under Kufuor, the Anlo State NEVER celebrated its venerable Hogbetsotso Festival.

It was when President John Evans Atta Mills took over the reins of Government in 2009, that the Anlo State was restored to its glory and honour.

After so many years of not celebrating the Hogbetsotso Festival, President John Evans Atta Mills made it possible for Anlos to once again celebrate their Festival with regal pump and pageantry.

I happened to be at the Hogbetsotso Festival in 2009 with President Atta Mills, and I can NEVER forget the deluge of excitement that engulfed the celebration.

As a proud son of the Anlo State, I shall never forget the praise that was heaped on President Atta Mills for giving us back our place of pride and restoring dignity to the Awomefia Stool.

A certain Nana Akuffo-Addo is now the Leader of the NPP, and there is no gainsaying the fact that, the hatred for Voltarians has reached very dizzy heights.

As a friend of mine said to me a few days ago: “Koku, if Akuffo-Addo ever becomes President of Ghana, we the Voltarians are dead.” All I could say in response, was, “Hmmmmmmmmmmm!!!”.

Honestly, it is not only Voltarians that will “be dead” under a tyrannical rule of Akuffo-Addo and his goon squads; it is the whole of Ghana that will “be dead”!

Indeed, Bawumia’s evil agenda of presenting a fake Voters Register from Togo, and making a false claim that thousands of Togolese have their names on Ghana’s voters register (specifically in the Volta Region), feeds into the UP Tradition’s sick thinking that Volta Region is not part of Ghana.

They insult us; they spit on us; they consider us to be Togolese (not that there is anything wrong with being Togolese), and when we refuse to vote for them; they say we are “INWARD LOOKING”.

Why shouldn’t we “look inward”, when the view “outside”, is not pleasant to the eye?

This whole nonsensical attempt by Bawumia to create the false impression that thousands of Togolese vote in the Volta Region, is deeply rooted in the UP Tradition’s hatred for Voltarians and Volta Region.

Oh yes; Bawumia only sought to create unnecessary hatred for the Volta Region in particular, and Voltarians in general.

Bawumia sought to give more meaning to Kennedy Agyepong’s ethnic-cleansing call for “Ewes and Gas to be clubbed and beheaded” in NPP strongholds.

As I continue to put out; the Leadership of the NPP believes that its supporters are not sophisticated in the head and so continue to feed them with trash.

Certainly, Bawumia was hoping to incite the NPP’s mainly Akan supporters against Ewes and Voltarians.

It is a fact that lots of Ewes and Voltarians are settlers in many NPP strongholds and so the agenda was to put out that evil information about Volta Region importing Togolese to vote, so that some tribes will begin to wage war against Ewes who have settled on their lands.

My people; are you getting the picture I am painting? Are you now seeing how evil and wicked Bawumia and the NPP are?

Are you now seeing the extent to which Bawumia and the NPP are prepared to go by annihilating certain ethnic groups just because Akuffo-Addo wants to become President “At All Cost”?

I make the emphatic statement that: Akuffo-Addo and Bawumia are prepared to wipe out Voltarians and Ewes in their nation-wrecking quest for power.

The choice of Volta Region as his “guinea pig” for his nation-wrecking experiment of claiming that our Voters Register is over-bloated with foreigners, was nothing short of pitching the Volta Region against the other regions.

Specifically, Bawumia was feeding on the tribal sentiments of bigots like Kennedy Agyepong to whip up negative sentiments against Voltarians.

Currently, there is no credible Voltarian who is part of Akuffo-Addo’s inner circle.

Of course, Bawumia himself has not got any Voltarian of repute around him.

It is very sad the way Bawumia has allowed Akuffo-Addo and his Akyem Mafia, to destroy him and pitch him against his own kit and kin.

There has always been a strong bond between Ewes and Northerners because of the way the UP Tradition looked down upon us, and also because of the way the NPP looks down upon us.

As far as the UP Tradition is concerned, and as far as NPP is concerned, Ewes and Northerners do not have a stake in the governance process of this country.

As far as the UP Tradition/NPP is concerned, it is only their Tradition that has the right to RULE.

Is President John Dramani Mahama not suffering lots of insults and name-calling from the NPP only because he is a Northerner?

Did bitchy and uncouth Ursula Owusu not openly say that President Mahama and all Northerners are only fit for herding cattle?

Did we not hear Yaw Osarfo-Marfo say that; Ewes, Gas, and Northerners, are not fit to become President of Ghana?

As for the egghead called Kennedy Agyepong; he believes that Ewes and Gas should be clubbed and beheaded.

Only the devil knows the worse things that would have happened to the Jews if Kennedy Agyepong were Adolf Hitler.

As things stand now; Bawmia, who is a full-blooded Northerner, has become a willing tool in the hands of Akuffo-Addo and his Akyem Mafia, and is being used to court anger for the Volta Region and Voltarians.

Now that Bawumia has been exposed as pathological LIAR who sought to swing Ewes in dirt; it is my clarion call that all Voltarians will close ranks as usual, and make sure that Akuffo-Addo, Bawumia, and the NPP, are PUNISHED at the polls on December 07, 2016.

I rest my case for now!

Rain or shine, I remain loyally under the umbrella.
