2024 elections: NPP confirms Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as parliamentary candidate for Walewale

The National Executive Committee of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unanimously confirmed Dr Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as the parliamentary candidate for the Walewale constituency after its meeting today.

It follows the withdrawal of the incumbent MP, Lariba Zuweira Abudu from the parliamentary contest.

A statement issued and signed by the general secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua on Wednesday, September 11, said it regards in high esteem the decision by the incumbent MP to withdraw from the race.

“The National Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party, at its meeting held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 unanimously confirmed Dr Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Walewale constituency.”

“The decision was arrived at, following the withdrawal of Lariba Zuweira Abudu , incumbent Member of Parliament and one of the two aspirants, from the parliamentary primary contest. This resulted in Dr Tia Abdul-Kabiru, becoming the sole aspirant for the contest,” the NPP statement said.
