It was Ghana’s best kept secret that Ghana Freedom Party’s (GFP) failed presidential aspirant Akua Donkor had much love of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially its leader, President Dramani Mahama.
Curiously enough and before 13 presidential aspirants including the GFP’s leader were disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC) for failing the vetting process, Madam Donkor instead of aiming shots at the incumbent president rather took delight in berating the opposition leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
News filtered in a while back that the NDC or better still President Mahama had offered a 4 wheel ride and a house to the comic politician in addition to foreign trips she was allowed to embark upon as a member of the president’s contingent exemplifying the goodwill both leaders shared.
And so it might not stun many about Madam Akua Donkor’s defection to the NDC family. After all she’s asked her followers to transfer their votes to the NDC and president Mahama so he can be retained for a second term to conclude his numerous projects.
Surely a second Mahama term will also mean more goodies for the farmer turned politician.
