Deputy Black Stars coach, Ibrahim Tanko has hinted that some players of Asante Kotoko will earn a call-up into the Black Stars team ahead of last AFCON qualifier against Kenya to be played next month.
Asante Kotoko are the only active club in the country as local football has been halted since June 2018 after the Anas exposé.
Coach Tanko was at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday, February 13 when the Porcupine Warriors defeated Zambian outfit Zesco United 2-1 and reveals that he and coach Kwesi Appiah have been monitoring the progress of the Reds.
In an interview on Joy FM in Accra, Ibrahim Tanko disclosed that is it likely some players of the Porcupine Warriors will earn a call-up for Kenya's match which comes off in March.
"We have been watching them, myself, coach Kwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu have been monitoring the team, they are the ones playing competitive football in the country and there are a lot of the players who are doing well so we are monitoring them," he told Joy FM
"In March we have the game against Kenya and hopefully one friendly match so hopefully we will give some of them the chance."
