Nkana FC continued their 43-years unbeaten home run when they edged Asante Kotoko 3-1 in CAF Confederation Cup matchday three in Kitwe, Zambia on Sunday.

Nkana were looking for a second home win heading into the match. Nkana started strong threatening early on with Walter Bwalya and Ronald Kampamba combining well.

Walter Bwalya was brought down in the box 19 minutes into the match and Fred Tshimenga stepped up and hit it into the roof of the net to put Nkana one nil up.

The lead however only lasted for three minutes as Yacouba Songwe put Kotoko level with a beautifully taken free kick. Nkana quickly started pushing for another and three minutes later they were back in the lead as Ronald Kampamba, The Landlord got on the end of a Walter Bwalya pass to slot home with a one touch finish.

In the second Stanza Nkana started from where they had left off . Three minutes into the second Stanza Fred Tshimenga came close with a snap shot.

Nkanas pressure finally paid off 13 minutes into the second half, Gift Zulu weeping in a beautiful cross into the area and Kampamba met it with a perfect header to beat Annan in the Kotoko goal.

Nkana were reduced to ten men after Richard Ocran was sent off for a second bookable offence . The hosts held on held on to win the match despite the pressure mounted on them by the visitors.

Nkana have now moved to six points and move to the summit of the log temporarily as Zesco take on Al Hilal later.

The result saw the Ghanaian side losing their second away match in the group stage after a 1-0 defeat in Sudan to Al Hilal in their last game.
