Prince-Oppong Boateng, father of newly signed Barcelona star Kevin-Prince Boateng says he is the happiest father on earth after his son completed a loan move to FC Barcelona.
The 31-year-old returns to LaLiga for his second spell after impressing at Las Palmas during the 2016-17 campaign and Barcelona can purchase him outright for a reported €8million before the loan ends.
Barcelona's move for the Ghanaian international comes as a shock given the midfielder's stature in the game, having represented fairly modest clubs in Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Sassuolo over the last few years.
Mr Oppong Boateng, who couldn't hide his joy in an interview with Sunyani-based Space FM said it was a great joy when his son called him to confirmed the move.
"Three days ago, he phoned me to expect a surprise but I didn't know about it. When he finally confirmed his move yesterday, it was a great joy for me. To have my two sons (Kevin Boateng & Jerome Boateng) at Bayern and Barcelona", he excitedly stated.Â
Kevin-Prince Boateng will be presented to the Barcelona fans on Tuesday, 22 January 2019, with the following events:
-11.30am, contract signing in the President Suñol Box, in a private ceremony.
-12.15pm, photo session on the field at Camp Nou.
-1.00pm, press conference at Camp Nou.
