A second-half goal from marksman Diawisie Taylor ensured victory for Karela United over Ebusua Dwarfs at the Anyinase Park in the final match of the Normalization Committee's Special Competition in Zone B.
The match was fiercely contested and it needed Taylor's 57th-minute strike to separate the two sides. He scored from the spot to take his tally to 9 goals in 14 games. The 19-year-old is currently leading the goal race with 9 strikes followed by Kotoko's Abdul Fatawu Safiu with 8.
The victory ensured Karela joined Zone B leaders Hearts of Oak to the semi-final stage of the Special Competition. The Phobians topped Zone B be with 28points while Karela placed second with a point lesser.
In other results, Liberty Professionals defeated WAFA 2-0 at Carl Reindorf Park with goals from Ernest Danso and Elvis Kyei Baffour. The win, however, was not enough to propel them to the Semis as Karela United who were leading the Scientific Soccer Lads by 2points before the game also won their fixture.
