Daniel Tawiah Opare is a Ghanaian football player who plays as a right-back for Belgian club Royal Antwerp.
Date of birth
27-year-old Daniel Opare was born on 18 October 1990 in Accra, Ghana.
Early football career
Opare started his football career with Volta Academy, moved to Ajax Football Academy before joining Ashanti Gold youth side.
At Ashanti Gold, he made 14 appearances and scored 5 goals in the process.
He moved on to join Tunisian side Sfax before earning a big move to Spanish side Real Madrid.
Real Madrid
In 2009 after the U20 World Cup, Opare signed for Real Madrid and was made to play in the youth team Real Madrid Castilla where he made just six appearances.

Standard Liège
On 3 July 2010, Opare left Real Madrid Castilla to sign for Belgian club Standard Liège, negotiated by his agents NVA Entertainment Group.
At Liege, he made 88 appearances for the side and was of their top players.
Porto
On 20 May 2014, just before the 2014 FIFA World Cup, it was announced Opare had signed for Portuguese club Porto after a successful four-year stint with Standard Liège.
He did not make a single appearance for Porto and only played twice for the team B. He left on loan in 2015 and joined Turkish club Besiktas.
Augsburg
On 13 August 2015, Opare signed a three-year contract with German club FC Augsburg for an undisclosed transfer fee.
He had a successful 2017 season with the German side until his contract was terminated after the club claimed he had lied them about a contract he tried to sign with another team.
He was shipped to French side Lens where he made 7 outings and left at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
Royal Antwerp
In July 2018 Opare signed a contract with Belgian Club Royal Antwerp as a free agent after his contract with his previous team had run out.
International career
Daniel Opare was a member of the Black Starlets squad for the 2007 Africa U17 Championship in Togo and also played in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
In September 2009, Opare was included in the Ghana national under-20 team (the Black Satellites) for the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt, in which Opare had helped the Ghana team win for the first time by defeating Brazil in the finals at the Cairo International Stadium on 16 October 2009.
Black Stars
Opare got his first call-up in 2007 just for an international friendly against Togo.
In December 2011, Opare was named to Ghana's provisional 25-man squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.[19] In January 2012, he was selected for the tournament's 23-man squad.
On 2 June 2014, Opare was named in Ghana's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In the team's opening match, he started at right-back against the United States in a 2–1 defeat, however, he did not appear in their other two matches as Ghana failed to advance past the group stage.

Ghana defender Daniel Opare released a picture of his ‘wife’ who is unknown to many on Christmas day in 2015.
