George Ashie and Emmanuel Tagoe will face off at the Bukom Boxing Arena on June 16 as part of activities to mark undefeated World Champion, Floyd Mayweather's visit to Ghana.
This was announced during the launch of the bout and Mayweather's visit, by Baby Jets Promotions at the Accra Sports Stadium today.
The boxer is expected in the country on June 15, the boxing bout and a call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu forms part of activities for the visit. He would also hold boxing clinics for young boxers in the country.
Tagoe defeated his long-time rival George Ashie in 2012 to win the WBA International lightweight title at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After the closely contested bout, many called for a rematch between the two boxers and Mayweather's visit has provided the opportunity for the two boxers to show their worth in the exhibition bout.
Mayweather is one of most popular athletes in the world due to his very impressive unbeaten of 49 wins without a loss in his professional career which spanned from 1996 to 2015.
