Black Stars goalkeepers trainer, Richard Kingston has explicitly stated that the national team call-ups are done based on criteria and not by public suggestions.
Kingston heavily descended on Ghanaians who have the notion that the Black Stars call-ups are done based on public recommendations. The former Black Stars number one was asked after the Ayew brothers were invited to the national team since the FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Congo in September last year in Kumasi.
However, according to Kingston, the Ayew brothers were invited by the technical handlers because they now deserve a call-up.

“We [Black Stars technical handlers] don’t invite Players base on what People Say. We have criteria of inviting players to the National Team and I think this time they [Jordan and Andre Ayew] deserve this call-up," Kingston told Kumasi-based Hello FM
“l am happy Dede And Jordan are back into the Black Stars and I personally believe they deserve to be in the National Team and I am hoping they put up a good performance to raise the image of the team.â€
