A woman shot and killed by Minneapolis police had called 911 to report a possible crime near her home, a source who knew her said.
A man was allegedly deported from Belgium this week ‘because he wasn’t gay enough’.
Boyfriend Jurgen Hendrickx issued a public plea for help on Wednesday after Festus was sent to Ghana – where homosexuality is illegal.
The pair, who met on a dating app in Antwerp in 2015, have been in a relationship for two years.
However Mr Hendrickx said ‘immigration in Belgium didn’t want to believe he was gay’ and ‘refused to let him stay despite being given evidence’.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he said that he and Festus had handed over dozens of pictures as well as evidence that Festus had been with other men before they met.
He said: ‘We have appeal so many times, we have done everything.
‘Immigration in Belgium don’t want to believe he is gay. They say he is not gay enough.
‘I have spoken to him today, he is very scared, he has nobody there. I want to go to him.
‘Over the last two years our relationship has grown and grown and grown, it is so good.
‘I have autism and it’s not easy for me to find love but I have.
‘I can’t stop crying, being gay is illegal in Ghana and I fear they are going to kill him.
‘Festus and I cry from morning to evening, we love each other so much.’

In Ghana, residents face up to three years in prison if convicted of being gay.
Mr Hendrickx now hope to travel to Ghana next week to reunite with his partner.
He said: ‘I have lung disease, so I need to see a doctor on Monday to see if I am fit to fly.
‘Then I need my vaccinations on Tuesday.
‘Immigration don’t believe Festus is gay but he is and we are a couple.
‘Last year I was in hospital and he sat with me for eight hours a day from 2pm to 10pm just so we could be together.

A mum has been arrested this week after she was caught towing her children behind her car in a toy wagon.
Alana Nicole Donahue was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment after several witnesses called police to report her.
Officers were sent images of the 27-year-old’s 1999 Ford Taurus Station Wagon pulling a two-year-old girl, her four-year-old brother and their eight-year-old cousin along the road.
Witnesses reported the vehicle travelled up to an estimated 30 mph at one point during the incident in Oregon.
Donohue from Springfield, reportedly attached the small plastic wagon to the rear of her car with a tie-down rope to ‘show the children a good time’.
She then drove to a roundabout and drove five mph laps until citizens intervened.
Lieutenant Scott McKee confirmed that Donohue is the mother of the two younger children and the older boy is her nephew.
A witness reported the two-year-old began crying after the wagon went up on two wheels during the trip.
The same witness reported observing Donohue pull over and move the toddler from the wagon to the car and then continue driving with the other two children still in the wagon.
In a police document, Lieutenant McKee said: ‘Witnesses reported Donohue was indignant when confronted by motorists pleading with her to stop, telling them to “mind your own businessâ€.
‘When confronted by police Donohue told an officer she didn’t know why everyone was making such a big deal, saying, “I was just trying to show them a good timeâ€.’
Police have charged Donohue with two counts of reckless endangerment and a third count is pending.
Police had not been aware of the third child at the time the incident was investigated.
The mother of the eight-year-old called police when she recognised her son in images shared on local social media.
Police have ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors.
