2022 budget: 12 takeaways from Ofori-Atta's presentation

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has presented the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy in Parliament on Wednesday, November 17.

Below are highlights from the budget presentation;

1. Abolishment of tolls on all public roads

2. Benchmark Values on Imports; Reversal of 50% discount on selected general goods and 30% discount on vehicles

3. Imposition of Electronic Transaction Levy

4. Implementation of the Unified Common Platform for property rate administration 

5. Passage of Tax Exemption Bill

6. Transition of graduating NABCO beneficiaries to YouStart programme

7. Review of Fees and Charges with average increase of 15%

8. Government working with private sector to establish a multi-million-dollar Green Fund to support Ghana's climate adaptation interventions

9. Climate Action; Ghana to attain neutrality by 2050

10. LEAP; Government to facilitate the disbursement of bi-monthly cash grants to beneficiaries 

11. 278 1D1F projects at various stages of implementation, 106 factories are operational

12. YouStart initiative to use GHC1 billion each year to create 1 million jobs
