Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Seth Twum Akwaboah, has appealed to the Finance Ministry that the 2022 budget should support industries in the country.
He said because job creation is currently a major challenge that the government, industries should be boosted via policies in the upcoming budget, to solve rising unemployment in the country.
"Government’s number one challenge is creating jobs for the masses and therefore if industry holds the key to that, then your budget programme should really support industries,” he said.
Seth Twum Akwaboah told Joy News that if government is able to properly link the agricultural and industrial sector together, more jobs will be created in the country.
"In this budget, we would like to see the incentives that are being given to the industries; we would like to see the reforms in the tax regime that is supportive of industrialisation and if we get it right, we should be able to make the impact that we want,” he said.
