Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has assured Ghanaians that President John Dramani Mahama is determined to fix the economy and restore hope.
He emphasized that the new administration is committed to building the Ghana citizens' desires while ensuring fiscal discipline and accountability.
“He will fix the economy, restore hope, and build the Ghana we want,” Dr. Forson declared during the presentation of the 2025 Budget Statement to Parliament on Tuesday, March 11.
The Finance Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing outstanding debts, revealing the staggering amount owed to road contractors.
“The government owes road contractors 100 billion Cedis,” he disclosed, acknowledging the financial burden inherited by the Mahama administration.
Dr. Forson further assured that under Mahama’s leadership, the government would strictly adhere to the public procurement process and align all projects with the approved budget.
“We will respect the limits of appropriations as approved by Parliament,” he affirmed, stressing the administration’s commitment to fiscal discipline.
