Barely a week after  Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah  proceeded on leave prior to retirement , his succesor has been found.
 President John Dramani Mahama has elevated Dr. Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku to become Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), with immediate effect.
Dr. Issahaku until his elevation was  a Second Deputy Governor,  and served on many committees including the Economy and Research Committee, Strategic Planning and Budget Committee, and the  Monetary Policy Committee, of Bank of Ghana
Before  joining the BoG, he  acted as the Chief Executive Officer of Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF) and has also worked with the African Development Bank and the World Bank. Dr. Issahaku holds Masters in Agric Economics and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia, according to citifmonline
