The daily minimum wage for workers has been increased from GHC8 to GHC8.80.
The increase which takes effect from January 2017 was arrived at after a meeting of the national tripartite committee comprising of representatives from the Ghana Employers Association, the Trades Union Congress (TUC), other labour unions and the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations.
Announcing the increment on Wednesday, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Haruna Iddrisu pegs urged all companies and employers to take note of the increase and apply accordingly.
