The government has secured a $35.5 million grant from Japan to fund the construction of the Tema Motorway Roundabout Phase Two in the Greater Accra Region and the rehabilitation of the National Truck Road (N8) in the Central Region.
An amount of $33.2 million is earmarked for the construction of Phase Two of the Tema Motorway Roundabout project and it involves the construction of a flyover linking Akosombo road to the Tema Motorway.
The remainder will be used for a second phase of the N8 project in the Central Region.
The grant agreement was signed on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Accra.
Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, signed the agreement on behalf of Ghana whiles Japan was represented by the Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ghana Office, Araki Yasumichi.
