The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced a significant adjustment to the schedule for the inaugural direct flight from London Gatwick to Kumasi Prempeh I International Airport.

Originally set for December 3, 2024, the direct flight’s launch has been delayed, with the GACL attributing the postponement to short notice.

The inaugural flight, which is now expected to land later in the week, is part of an ambitious new initiative that underscores the growing importance of Kumasi as a travel hub in Ghana.

This delay is notable for travelers and stakeholders in the aviation and tourism industries, especially those anticipating the potential impacts of the service.

The rescheduling of this flight has generated considerable attention within the travel sector, both locally and internationally, as it is the first of its kind, marking a milestone for the region.

With this delay, though, comes a certain level of uncertainty as the public awaits an updated arrival date for the direct service from London.

However, GACL has assured that the subsequent flight, scheduled for December 15, 2024, will proceed as originally planned.
