President John Mahama has appointed Edmond Kombat as the new Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).

His appointment is widely viewed as a strategic decision aimed at reviving the company, which has faced significant operational and financial challenges in recent years.

Edmond Kombat brings extensive experience in the oil and energy sector to his new role, positioning him as the right candidate to steer the refinery back to stability.

TOR, once a vital component of Ghana’s industrial framework, has struggled with inefficiencies that have hampered its ability to meet domestic and regional energy demands.

His primary responsibility will be to lead efforts to restructure and modernize the refinery’s operations. In addition, he is expected to seek private-sector partnerships to secure much-needed capital and technical expertise for TOR’s revitalization.
