The National Communication Authority, NCA has in a statement said they have taken notice of some public concerns regarding the SIM registration exercise.
According to them, they understand the frustration and inconvenience of customers in their bid to complete the second stage of the SIM Card registration process.
NCA, therefore, outlined four measures to deal with the situation.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s leading telco, MTN, is rolling out a raft of measures to decongest Service Centres for the ongoing SIM re-registration exercise.
MTN has said it will soon deploy mobile registration teams to visit homes and targeted areas to capture the biometric data of its subscribers as part of the mandatory SIM re-registration exercise.
The re-registration of SIM cards with the Ghana Card commenced in October 2021 and is expected to continue to the end of March 2022.
Ghanaians are expected to re-register their mobile phone numbers with the Ghana Card or lose the number after the deadline.
