Managing Director of the National Trust Holding Company (NTHC), Mr. Francis Apanka is optimistic that the company will overcome the current challenges it is facing and maintain its position as a leader in the industry.
Speaking at the NTHC 40th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday in Accra, he said the industry is going through very challenging times with the rising cost of living taking a considerable squeeze on disposable incomes and therefore investment funds.
This he said is adversely affecting every business including that of NTHC but believes they would rise above the challenge.
He said, they carefully selected their theme for the celebrations “Pioneering Sustainable Investment Banking: Now and Into the Future†which would ensure they remain focused and achieve their objectives.
Mr. Apanka added that “in consonance with the theme, we at NTHC are putting in place the kind of things which will continue to position us to take advantage of our opportunities and overcome our challenges.â€
These he said would include, redefining their processes, enhancing systems and developing their people to meet the expectations of customers and the threats of the competitors.
“In particular, we must realize that we are not in a pots and pans business, but the business of offering financial services where the key raw materials are the integrity of our platform, the confidence of our customers and the expectations of our shareholders,†he stated.
According to him, the only way to achieving the ambition of their 40th Anniversary of building a sustainable business is to have an end product which is the right mix of the key raw materials.
The company he said would be focusing on a number of things to reposition the business for the future which includes enhancing customer reach and service both geographic and virtual, expand product range, deliver competitive return on investment to shareholders and reward staff commensurate with their performance and competitive to the industry.
“We all have a role to play in achieving these noble and necessary goals and I have no doubt that NTHC will rise to the occasion,†he stated.
Other dignitaries present at the Thanksgiving service include, Group Board Chairman, Mr. Peter Hayibor, Group Board Directors, Chairpersons of Subsidiary Boards, Rev. Emmanuel Barigah of the Global Evangelical Church who was the Special Guest and staff on the company.
The service was aimed at thanking God for the company’s 40 years of existence and interact with stakeholders as the company looks forward to the years ahead.
