Some private companies in the country are likely to be erased from the Registrar General Department's records early next year.

This follows a statement issued by the RGD calling on companies - particularly, the Sole Proprietors in the country to renew their business names.

In an encounter with the media - Ghana's Registrar General, Jemima Oware, said Sole Proprietary companies who failed to renew their business names before the close of the year, will have them rendered inactive in the RGD's electronic database from 2nd January 2018.

Consequently, businesses who fall victim to this condition would find it impossible to effect any changes or update their information on the e-database system and will practically have to re-register their companies.

In an earlier related development, the Registrar General's Department issued a directive to all businesses who had defaulted in filing their tax returns over the past two to three years to do on, or before April 2018.
