Kidney disease claims life of actor Middleton-Mends

Veteran actor Kofi Middleton-Mends has reportedly died after suffering kidney complications.

The 77 year old husband and father gave joy to many Ghanaians with his crisp acting in films as well as radio and TV commercials.

Daughter, Araba Botchwey explained his father had been unwell for over two years regularly undergoing dialysis treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital till he expired on August 15.

Middleton-Mends left behind a wife and three surviving children.

His film credits include ‘No Tears for Ananse’ (1968) and ‘Grey Dawn’ (2015). He is fondly remembered for his Key Soap TV advert ‘Medofo Pa’.

Entertainers including Bob Okala, Nkomode, Geroge Williams have all died in recent times often struggling to foot their mounting medical bills.
