Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was in Tamale on Saturday to extend his support and encouragement to Failatu Abdul Razak on her Cook-a-thon journey.

Dr Bawumia was accompanied by the Northern Regional Minister Shani Alhassan Saibu, former NPP flagbearer aspirant Kwabena Agyapong and other NPP stalwarts.

Speaking to the media, the Vice President said the attempt by both Chef Faila and event organiser Afua Asantewaa has put Ghana on the map and proves that it is possible to accomplish anything one sets their mind to.

“When I say it is possible, it means it is possible for us to be the best. It is possible to beat the best in the world. That mindset is what Ghanaians need. That possibility mindset and what Afua did in the sing-a-thon, showed that it was possible to be the best in the world.

"What Faila is also doing here is showing that it is possible to break the world record and we are here to support her so that she does it and we all going to be very happy when she does it,” he said.

Prior to his arrival, Bawumia gave Chef Failatu GHS 30,000 via the Northern Regional Minister to help her break the Guinness World Record marathon.

Chef Failatu is currently on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

She has surpassed the current record held by Irish Chef Alan Fisher, who achieved an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes.

As the clock ticks, Failatu, assisted by a deputy chef, is committed to cooking for an impressive 240 hours.
