Prophet Nicholas Osei, also known as Kumchacha, the founder and leader of Heaven's Gate Ministries, has said he would have lost his cool if he were in the shoes of former Black Stars player, Nii Odartey Lamptey.
According to the controversial pastor, if he had gone through the marital problems that led to the former footballer's divorce from his ex-wife, Gloria Appiah, he would have done himself harm.
"It will only take God to intervene to save me, or I will poison myself. I can shoot myself and die if I have a gun. It's not easy, I believe he has a good counsellor. It will be difficult to deal with if the only child you have with a woman is not yours, let alone three," he said in an interview with Oman FM on Wednesday, July 21.
According to him, the divorce saga demonstrates that women are evil.
On July 16, 2021, an Accra High Court dismissed an appeal case files by Odartey Lamptey's former wife, in which she sought custody of Odartey's seven-bedroom house in East Legon, Accra.
This followed the dismissal of a similar case by the ex-wife in 2020.
The ex-marriage footballer's to his ex-wife ended in 2013 after DNA tests revealed that their three children were not the ex-footballer's.
After the divorce was finalized in court, Odartey' s ex-wife was given a four-bedroom house, GHc 200,000, and some cars as part of her settlement.
Despite the initial agreement, the two have been fighting Gloria for custody of the eight-bedroom East Legon house for the past eight years.
In response to the initial reliefs granted to Gloria by the court, Prophet Kumchacha stated that the ex-wife should have expressed gratitude for receiving settlement.
"I applaud the judge for being sympathetic to her," he said.
