Nigerian actor and philanthropist Jim Iyke, popular for bad boy roles in Nigerian movies, has revealed that the traffic jams in Ghana are so bad they caused his lateness to scheduled interviews.

Speaking on popular mid-morning show, Cosmopolitan Mix on Wednesday, the actor was asked why he arrived two hours late.

He explained that the roads in the capital city are choked with traffic in the early hours of the day.

“I apologise profusely. To start with, I was here some 5 to 6 years ago. So Accra has changed traffic-wise so much. I thought one-hour take-off from the hotel down here will more than suffice to get here. We’ve been sitting in the traffic for well over two hours,” he told the host of the show.

He was asked: Are you blaming the traffic?

“Yes, I’m. I am doing the traditional blame game,” he answered.

Jim Iyke is currently in Ghana to premiere his new movie ‘Bad Comment’.

It is set to take off at the Silver Bird Cinema on October 2, 2021.

The actor was supposed to be at different media houses for some interviews about his new movie, but he arrived late to each of the interviews.

So out of the four different interviews that he was scheduled to attend, he was able to make it to only one – blaming it on the traffic in Accra.

Jim Iyke said he has visited Ghana in previous years, and he can attest that the traffic situation has gotten worse.

Jim Iyke began acting in 2001.

He's known to be one of the highest-paid actors in Nollywood and has appeared in over 150 films.

He started a movie production company, Untamed Production in 2007.

Jim Iyke began his own music record label, Untamed Records.

He produced a first album, titled “Who Am I” featuring some of Nigeria’s top musicians such as Tuface Idibia and Sound Sultan.
