Actor and social media star Andrea Owusu popularly known as Efia Odo has shared a painful story about her life in an interview.

The actor, who is perceived by many as a bad girl, has revealed that it has been hard for her to grow up without a father’s love.

Efia Odo travelled to the USA at the age of five to stay with her mother.

To her, coming back to Ghana is a breakthrough because she now has all the freedom she ever wanted.

The downside to her return to Ghana, she explains, is that attempts to build a relationship with her father have failed.

During the interview on Peace FM, she at a point shed tears when she spoke about her strained relationship with her dad.

She explained that she always gets emotional and shed tears anytime she talks about him.

The actor, however, believes that it’s nobody’s fault she and daddy have no connection, explaining that tt’s only because she never stayed with him and the physical distance between them while she was growing worsened matters.

Efia said during her stay in the States she used to quarrel a lot with her mom, she even wanted to commit suicide at some point.

She said the situation was so bad that she had to be taken to therapy at some point. Those bad times reminded her of her dad, she recounted.

“My mum left Ghana when I was just one year and since then they haven’t been together, so I was with my grandma and aunt. I didn’t stay with my dad. So, when as I left Ghana at the age of 5 there has been no communication with my dad until I came back to Ghana.

“Even during the first few years that I was in Ghana I have not been talking to my dad because there was no relationship…,” she said.

“For about almost two years now, we communicate, we talk because I feel like it’s not his fault, and it’s not my mum's fault. It’s just how life is living in the States. She tried so much bringing him there but it didn’t work out but I have been trying so hard to talk to him even to say I love you is difficult, but I say it for him to feel better because am his only child basically,” she explained.
