What was meant to be a show of affection by Asamoah Gyan’s girlfriend, Nina Atala, has ricocheted with many netizens piling a hoard of insults on the controversial lady.
Although Asamoah Gyan has not officially acknowledged Nina as his girlfriend following his ongoing divorce hearing, Nina has not relented in expressing her love openly to the former Black Stars skipper on social media.
According to entertainment blog, Ghana Celebrities, on Monday, November 22, 2021, the former Black Stars captain celebrated his birthday and his side chick, Nina did not spare the opportunity to shower the father of three with love to mark the day.
Nina courted some controversy when she shared photos of Asamoah Gyan with captions that suggested that the former soccer star was her entire world.

In one of the photos, she captioned him as her ‘beau’, which can mean boyfriend.
In other photos, she added heart emojis and crown emojis, crowning him the 'king of her heart'.
In another post, like the one below, she called Asamoah Gyan her "partner in crime."
While some revelled in the open show of affection, other netizens descended on her with invectives and hard-hitting words.
“Go back to your ex-convict husband and leave Asamoah alone,” one netizen posted in the comments section of the story on Ghanaweb.
Another called her an “opportunist”.
Long standing divorce
Asamoah Gyan filed for divorce in July 2018. It is not clear why.
Sources indicate that, among other reliefs, the footballer asked the court to order a DNA test to be carried out on all the three children to ascertain whether or not he is their father.
The DNA results came out and proved Gyan is allegedly the father of all three kids.
In her application, Gifty, Asamoah Gyan’s estranged wife, wants the football star to pay the educational expenses of three children, £4,667.91 in their monthly expenses as well as other expenses.
With the other expenses, Gifty wants £1,500 for vehicle insurance and £200 as road tax every year.
She further wants the court to order Gyan to pay £12,870 which is the five months rent arrears for her shop.
According to sources, Gifty in her application avers that she resides in the United Kingdom with the three children and that Gyan has refused to pay for her maintenance and that of the three children after he filed for divorce in July, 2018.
She also wrote in her pleadings that before Gyan filed for divorce, he took £70,000 and €11,000 from her without paying.
According to the sources, Gifty says she is unable to cater for herself and that of her children, as well as pay the rent for the shop because she gave all her money to Gyan.
Sources tell Prime News that Asamoah Gyan may find it difficult to meet Gifty’s divorce terms and that she (Gifty) is willing to beat down her demands and settle the divorce amicably without burdening the ex Black Star player.
