Its another month which means for the movie enthusiasts have some new movies to look out for. Sure, there are big superhero movies still in the cinemas to watch (unless you count Detective Pikachu, which you should), but that's nothing to worry about. In their place is a mix of comedy, horror, and a biopic about this singer-songwriter named Elton John.

Long Shot (May 3)
When a Secretary of State (Charlize Theron) decides to run for president, she hires a free-spirited journalist (Seth Rogen) to be her speechwriter. But it's not that simple. Turns out, she used to be his babysitter, and if the writing isn't on the wall, there's some romantic chemistry.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu (May 10)
Listen. No one should have to say anything besides "new Pokémon movie in 2019" to sell this. But, this new live-action flick also features Ryan Reynolds' voice as Pikachu while he and his new partner venture to figure out what happened to a missing detective.

The Hustle (May 10)
Rebel Wilson has solidified herself as comedic gold, but when you pair her alongside equally funny, yet underrated Anne Hathaway in a spy drama, then you're set to get a really solid couple hours of laughs.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (May 17)

John Wick has to be so tired at this point, but where there's a Keanu, there's a way. Reeves returns to the third installment of the franchise as John Wick. At this point, he's distrusted by so many people that he can barely go anywhere in the world, but he's got Halle Berry on his side in this film, so that's a plus.

Aladdin (May 24)
Live-action Aladdin is going to be insane. Yes, there's been some doubts about how Genie is being artistically portrayed (as a very blue Will Smith), but this new iteration looks like one of Disney's most elaborate live-action ventures to date.

Booksmart (May 24)
Olivia Wilde makes her directorial debut with Booksmart, a film about two academic, straight-laced girls who decide that they want to make the most of high school before it's all wrapped up with graduation.

Ma (May 31)
Let's be honest for a second. Ma looks terrible. I don't know how these films keep happening to Octavia Spencer. With that being said, I'm fully here for any film that has multiple-Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer saying, "Don't make me drink alone!" in a threatening manner.

Rocketman (May 31)
Rocketman is an Elton John biopic you didn't know you needed. Don't expect a facts-only film, unless there was a period of time when John literally floated, but damn if it doesn't look cool anyway.
