Veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio gets help from Dr Bawumia after plea for financial help went viral

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has donated an unspecified amount of money to veteran actor, Psalm Adjeteyfio, after his plea for financial help hit the internet.

A lawyer at the office of the Vice President, Mr Akbar Yussif Rohulllah Khomeini, revealed in a Facebook post that Dr Bawumia has been touched by the plea and has since arranged to meet a former popular actor on Tuesday.

”Truth is that we have already dealt with it this morning. l am meeting them tomorrow to hand over money to them,” Mr Akbar Yussif Rohulllah Khomeini revealed.

The veteran actor, known popularly as T.T played the lead character in the popular Ghanaian TV series Taxi Driver.

He has for some time now been seeking help from the public and on Sunday made another appeal during an interview on Step 1 TV.

The actor mentioned that he is now a “charity case” as he lives by handouts from benevolent members of the public.

The actor went on to says that he needed GHS3,000 to cater for his rent otherwise he will become homeless.

He revealed this after the interviewer made the comment: "I am currently in one of the beautiful houses where you live, is it one of the houses you built yourself?"

Psalm Adjeteyfio answered thus: "this is not my house. It is a rented apartment; I am just telling you to help me pay my rent. I don't own it; I am renting it."

The interviewer asked if he was still acting, and he said he has not been acting for some time now.

“I have become a charity case. Right now, immediately we need GHS3,000 that will cover six months advance payment," he stated.

Mr Akbar Yussif Rohulllah Khomeini has also said the Vice President was working on getting permanent accommodation for the veteran actor.
