Actress Yvonne Okoro has finally fulfilled her $10,000 promise to the Black Queens as they won bronze at the just ended WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations held in Abidjan.
At a ceremony at the Sports Ministry on May 30, the actress presented $10,000 to the Black Queens in fulfilment of her pledge, should they reach the semi-finals of the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations.
"This is a cheque of $10,000 to Black Queens for making me proud," Yvonne Okoro said during the presentation.
Yvonne Okoro took a trip to Abidjan on May 9, to meet, motivate and support the Black Queens ahead of their first encounter against Senegal at the Robert Champroux Stadium.
It was during this meeting that Okoro promised to give the Black Queens 10,000 dollars should they reach the semifinals of the WAFU Zone B competition.
