Police arrest 3 suspects in connection with robbery, killing of mobile money vendors in Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended three suspects linked to the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the region, according to a press release.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as “Kwame Charles” or “Miami”, Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42. They were arrested on 21st March, 2025 at Pankrono and Atimatim respectively.

According to the police statement, the first incident occurred on Thursday, 13th February, 2025 at Kroforom around noon, where the victim, Patricia Nimako, tragically lost her life alongside a sum of money during the robbery.

The second incident took place on the night of Monday, 10th March, 2025, when the victim, Gideon Owusu Sarpong, alias “Junior”, was robbed and murdered at his residence in Kwadaso.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will soon be brought before the court to face justice. The police are intensifying efforts to locate a fourth suspect identified as Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or “Baba Macho”, who is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso near Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region, or Accra.

The Police Command is appealing to the public to assist in the search for Martin Amoah and has provided a toll-free number, 191, 112 (or 18555 MTN and Telecel), for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, has reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice is served and urges the public to remain vigilant in helping to bring all responsible individuals to justice.
