Police at Akim Oda have arrested 10 University students for allegedly writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination(WASSCE) for some candidates of the PLACID International School in the Birim Central Municipality in the Eastern Region.
Three other students from a private second cycle institution, Star International School were also arrested for committing the same offence.
The Public Relations Officer for the Eastern Regional Police command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh has said the 10, comprising 4 men and 6 women were spotted by an examiner who suspected they were not students of the school.
He added that all 13 of the students have been charged with impersonation and are being processed for court.
“The university students are ten. They came from the universities across the length and breadth of the country, the most prominent ones. We have UCC, Legon, University of Science and Technology and the University of Professional Studies. Three other students who came from Star International School were also arrested. So in all, we have 13 students, ten of them university students and three others.†he reported.
