Personnel from the Ghana police service and the New Patriotic Party(NPP) security men were nearly engaged in a scuffle over who to control the crowd as the party officials and supporters awaited the arrival of their flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Though there have been calls from civil societies and stakeholders for the banning of private security groups under the political parties in the country, the situation seemed the usual at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre where the NPP which  hosted the 2016 manifesto launch of the NPP.
A look around the venue shows a lot of well-built men, known in local parlance as macho men mostly wearing black and yellow with the inscription SECURITY at their backs.
