3 fire officers killled by overspeeding car while rescuing accident victims

Three officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have died while attending to accident victims on the George Walker Bush Highway.

According to reports, the three, whose identities are not yet known, had rushed to the place to rescue victims of an accident that had occurred on the highway involving 5 vehicles but were run over by a speeding car from the other side killing all three.

Eyewitnesses claim, they were all moving from Lapaz heading towards Achimota/Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout when the unfortunate incident happened few meters from the Sues Inn.

Police personnel from the Tesano Police Station later moved to the scene with the assistance of residents to rescue passengers trapped in their cars and rush the injured to hospital.
