President John Dramani Mahama has announced his latest batch of 17 ministerial nominations.
President in the said list nominated Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, as the new Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The list also featured Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah as Minister for Defence-designate; Samuel Nartey George as Coummincations, Digital Technology and Innovaions Minister-designate.
Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency Kofi Adams has been assigned to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation while Ellembelle MP, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, heads to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The statement released on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and signed by the Acting Spokesperson for the President, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, noted that nominations have formally been submitted to Parliament through Speaker Alban Bagbin for approval.
The Appointments Committee will conduct a thorough vetting process, assessing the nominees’ qualifications, track records, and alignment with national priorities.
