The Attorney General (AG) has filed a nolle prosequi, officially discontinuing the case against Democracy Hub protesters, including Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Ama Governor, and several others.

This comes after a total of 54 persons were arrested during the three-day protest at the 37 Roundabout in Accra in September 2024 to register their displeasure of the devastating impact of illegal mining, popularly known as galasmey.

They were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace, assault on a public officer.

They all pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit the crime and were later granted bail.
