The Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, is set to undertake a comprehensive nationwide payroll audit aimed at all entities on the Controller and Accountant-General’s payroll system, including subvented organizations.

In a statement, the Office of the Auditor-General outlined that the payroll records of Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and subvented bodies from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024, will be thoroughly audited.

The exercise will also involve a full headcount of all government-paid staff.

Institutions within the affected categories have been urged to provide auditors with full and unrestricted access to all relevant records to ensure the audit’s success.
