MP for Ningo Prampram, Sam George has said his Facebook post on the day of the Ayawaso by-election could have been his last post.

According to him, he was chased by masked security men on the day after he confronted them about the reason for which they were at the polling station on election day.

The MP on the day of the Ayawaso by-election posted on facebook about how he was being shot at and assaulted by the masked security men.

"I have just been assaulted by several members of the NPP Invincible Forces attired in National Security Council shirts and vests. They fired several rounds of ammunition at me simply because I was doing my legal job of monitoring the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election."

Narrating his part of events on that day to the Ayawaso Commission for which he was assaulted, Sam George said: "I confronted the National Security operative known as Mohammed Sule and asked him if he was a national security officer or a party agent and it was at the point that he assaulted me."

According to him, the masked security men fired shots into the crowd on the day of the by-election.

"After the first shot was fired, the crowd had started dispersing but the armed men fired into the crowd."

Sam George has also discounted reports by some State security officials that he arrived at the La Bawaleshie Presby polling station with his car accompanied by some men on motorbikes.

"There have been several contradictions from Gov't appointees who have appeared on the commission, but all have proven to be total fabrications."

Sam George explained that his presence at the polling station was mandated by parliament to supervised the MPs election monitoring team.

"The 21 MPs were accredited by the EC to monitor the Ayawaso by-election. The night before the by-election, I received the accreditation tags. I was supposed to meet the MPs early the next morning to give them the accreditation."

"I entered Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency at 6:45 am. At the University of Ghana, I met 3 of my colleague MPs. This was a few minutes after 7 am. I noticed a large convoy that had heavily armed, masked men on the streets of UG," he added.
