Police have arrested four persons at Ga Mashie in Accra following disturbances and chaos over the installation of the new Ga- Mantse.
Some angry youth are reported to have gone about breaking bottles and threatening lives of individuals over the chieftaincy dispute in the area, Wednesday.
A press conference was organized on Wednesday morning by the Abola Piam We, a faction of the Ga state, to express their disapproval over the installation of Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as Ga Mantse over the weekend in Accra.
According to them, it was not right for an individual to be picked from Nii Teiko Tsuru We, where Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II hails, to be the chief of Ga Mashie.
However, scores of some youth believed to be from Nii Teiko Tsuru We, besieged the venue with cudgels and bottles to create chaos and prevented the press conference from going ahead, resulting in the arrest of four individuals by the police.
It took the intervention of Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II to calm the angry youth.
Police and other security personnel are patrolling the area to ensure sanity and order.
Kingmakers of the Ga Paramount Stool including the Dzaasetse, Dr. Nii Tetteh Kwei and Ga Stool father (Ga Seitse) and Nii Tetteh Ashong V installed Dr. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II over the weekend.
