The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has exonerated Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng from allegations related to holding two passports under different identities.
The claims were initially made in January 2023 by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu.
Ablakwa petitioned CHRAJ to investigate Reverend Kusi Boateng, who is the Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, accusing him of conflict of interest, multiple identities, and alleged criminal conduct.
CHRAJ's investigation revealed that Reverend Kusi Boateng holds only one passport, issued under the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
The Commission found no evidence to support the assertion that he had obtained a passport under the name Kusi-Boateng.
The petition also questioned a GH¢2.6 million payment from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company allegedly connected to Reverend Kusi Boateng under his alternate identity.
CHRAJ determined that while JNS Talent Centre Limited did not provide any services in return for the payment, the funds were not used for personal benefit.
Instead, Reverend Kusi Boateng had used his own resources to pay contractors working on the National Cathedral during a financial crisis. The transfer was identified as a reimbursement for these payments.
