The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has released all five vehicles seized from the residence of Kofi Adams, the National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), by soldiers and national security agents.
The release follows a thorough investigation carried out by the CID of the Police Service to establish the ownership of the said vehicles.
According to a statement from the Police, the cars were handed over to Adams on Thursday afternoon.
The CID PRO, ASP Benefo Darkwa, told accra-based Asempa FM that Adams gave his full cooperation to the police.
“He cooperated with us throughout the investigations and at the end based on the evidence, we’ve come to the conclusion that the cars are not state cars. We’ve returned all the cars to him.â€
About 15 soldiers wielding AK 47 assault rifles reportedly stormed the Tema residence of Kofi Adams over a fortnight ago and seized two Land Cruisers and three pick-ups.
The soldiers went to his house in the company of some officials of the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA) and made away with the vehicles.
