Chief of the Dangmebiawe clan at Ada in the Greater Accra region, Nene Tetteh Lanueh Okumo Osabutey IV, has appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo not to ignore the plights of the Ada people.Â
According to the Chief who spoke to Primenewsghana on the sidelines of the ongoing Ada Asafotufiami 80th Anniversary celebrations, there are several challenges facing the people of Ada that requires urgent attention from government.Â
He said, several schools in Ada lack adequate textbooks and other learning materials which is adversely affecting the educational system of the area.Â
"Some of the schools have dilapidated structures and need to be fixed urgently to help improve upon the standards of education in Ada", he added.Â
He said, some roads in Ada are also in a very bad state and affecting the transportation of goods from one place to the other.Â
The people of Ada he said, would use the 80th Anniversary celebrations to initiate several developmental projects which would require the support of government.Â
"The celebration sets the stage for several projects which would be completed next year aimed at transforming Ada to become one of the very developed towns in the country", he stressed.Â
He also urged the youth not to engage in any form of violence during the celebrations but rather live in unity for the progress of the communities and the country at large.Â
So far Nene Osabutey IV said, the festival which began on Friday has been peaceful and also pleased with the massive attendance.Â
