The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has dismissed two of its members who had held executive positions, from the party.
Abdul Rauf Kadir, Communication Director of the party, said Mr. Eric Asani Tano, former Acting General Secretary; and Mr. Ernesto Yeboah, former National Youth Organiser, were dismissed for going against the party’s regulations.
Speaking in an interview on Class 91.3FM monitored by Prime News Ghana, Mr. Kadir said: “In the case of Tano, he has been sacked from the party… he is no longer a member of the Convention People's Party and it will, therefore, be criminal for him to hold himself as such; and in the case of Mr Nii Armah Akomfrah, he simply has been suspended from his position indefinitely; he is not sacked as a member of the Convention People's Party but he is no longer the General Secretary of the Convention People's Partyâ€
Asked about the fate of Mr. Ernesto Yeboah, Mr. Kadir said: “He and Tano Eric, they have been sacked from the party, they are not suspended, they are sacked from the partyâ€.

He said the duo breached the constitution of the party, thus, “automatically†ceasing to be members of the CPP.
The CPP initially suspended Mr. Yeboah and Mr. Akomfrah for acts of indiscipline.
The party, acting upon the advice of the Central Committee in March 2017 revoked the membership of Mr. Tano after he was blamed of campaigning and voting for a candidate other than the CPP’s presidential candidate for the 2016 elections.
It would be recalled that Mr. Tano, the then-Deputy Communication Director of the CPP, was appointed as Acting General Secretary after Mr. Akomfrah was suspended.
Meanwhile, Mr. James Kwabena Bomfeh Jr. has been nominated as the Acting General Secretary of the party.
His appointment follows an agreed decision taken at a Central Committee meeting held on Thursday, 24 October 2018.
Mr. Bomfeh will be assisted by Mr. J.B Daniels as Deputy General Secretary.
